Discipleship Essentials Leader's Guide

The Discipleship Essentials book does have a Leader's Guide at the back to help you identify how to invite and to lead a micro group.

There is no answer key.

The instructional design of the book is more of a discovery learning model where the questions first draw out what participants think, perceive, or have experienced. (It's ok to leave some answers blank if anyone is not ready to respond!)

Then the reading that follows often clarifies the questions that were asked. In other words, this is more of an inductive rather than deductive methodology. Reviewing and reframing through relationships and reading Scripture is more motivating than merely answering questions.

The focus is not "just another Bible Study program." The emphasis is on transformation of our lifestyles to become more like Christ in all our ways--integrated to fulfill The Great Commandment to "Love the LORD with all your heart, all your mind, all your soul, and all your strength."

In addition, the purpose is not to gather more information to consume more Christian doctrine. As you may see from the introduction, this is about making disciples who make disciples. Handing off your faith to others is more than being a disciple, but of course, we cannot make disciples until we are first being disciples.

Some people have mentioned that this is disconcerting to them because they want to "fill in the blanks" with the correct responses. Obviously, any method is not the main issue. Developing a foundational love of God is the key. Building relationships is more important than completing a lesson in 1-1/2 hours.

We hope this helps to clarify your questions.
